A Daycare with a Difference!
Frankie's World is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care center or PPEC licensed by the State of Pennsylvania to care for medically or technologically-dependent children.
The idea for Frankie's World began in 2005. As President and Owner of Preferred Home Care, a pediatric nursing agency in Philadelphia, I saw first hand the difficulty faced by parents with medically fragile children. It is unimaginably stressful for parents. In addition, I saw that sick children did not have the same opportunities to play, socialize, learn and develop as their well peers. I saw that something needed to be done for this group of parents and children. Shortly thereafter I purchased and renovated a 12,600 square foot warehouse in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Frankie's World opened July 19, 2006. It is a beautiful facility, with a large open playroom, toys, books, child's computer, adapted seating, therapy equipment, tricycles, indoor swing set, and much more - every item carefully selected to maximize a child's opportunity for physical, physiological, and intellectual growth and development.
At Frankie's World, every child is treated with respect and dignity. We maintain a high ratio of one health professional for every 3 children, and we have a special needs educator onsite. I named the center after Frankie, an amazing little girl in Philadelphia. She is an inspiration to her doctors, nurses, therapists, family and friends. And just like Frankie, Frankie's World is full of smiles and laughter!
We welcome children ages birth to 8 years of age who currently receive in-home private duty nursing, or who qualify to receive nursing care. There is no cost to parents - we will work with your child's doctor and insurance company.
